I am a Senior Lecturer within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Lincoln, and have been based here since October 2003.
My background is varied, with a degree in microbiology, followed by a PhD in antibiotic resistance research, specifically in the area of plasmid stability. I then worked for two years as a Quality Manager for a UKAS accredited laboratory before joining the team here at Lincoln. Since then, I have increased my knowledge in microscopy, and now conduct research in the field of forensic fibre analysis, as well as maintaining interests in environmental antibiotic resistance, and the molecular basis of the genetic transfer and inheritance of the resistance genes.
